UAdeC and Grupo DAVISA: Dual education and job certification to build the future.
The Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila (UAdeC) and DAVISA are strengthening their strategic alliance through a partnership program that combines dual education with job skills certification. The goal is to prepare young people to meet the real demands of the productive sector while also contributing to the social development of the region.
This initiative allows students from different faculties to complement their academic training with hands-on experience in real DAVISA projects, while earning certifications in key areas for the industry. This not only enhances their employability but also provides them with a broader perspective on how their work can positively impact the community.
According to UAdeC’s General Office of Links and Productive Innovation, the model not only promotes the labor insertion of graduates but also enriches academic curricula by aligning them with the real needs of the market.
Shared Benefits For students, the program offers valuable professional experience, concrete employment opportunities, and additional benefits such as discounts on various activities. For UAdeC, it represents a solid connection with the business sector and the opportunity to train more competitive professionals. For DAVISA, it provides access to skilled young talent, the ability to positively influence their training, and the chance to strengthen its commitment as a socially responsible company.
In recent months, students from the Faculty of Architecture and other university departments have actively collaborated on projects within DAVISA. Some have been recognized for completing the IMPUD Dual Education Program—a step that goes beyond a diploma and opens real doors to professional growth.
Currently, the program is preparing to welcome its 15th generation of students, who will soon join DAVISA’s workforce. “We are confident that, just like previous generations, it will be a successful experience that strengthens local talent and opens new opportunities for everyone,” company representatives stated.
Both UAdeC and Grupo DAVISA agree that investing in education is investing in the future of the region. This model demonstrates that when universities and companies work hand in hand, they not only build better professionals but also stronger communities with greater potential for growth.
UAdeC IMARC Student gains direct admission to the Faculty of Sistems, southeast unit.
With a GPA of 95, Luz María Ponce de Hoyos, a graduate of the Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Calderón Institute (IMARC) of the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila, earned direct admission to the Electronics and Communications Engineering program at the Faculty of Systems, Southeast Unit, thanks to her
outstanding academic performance, which positioned her as the top student of her graduating class at this high school.
Direct admission to higher education programs for UAdeC students with the highest high school GPAs is part of an institutional initiative aimed at promoting academic merit, strengthening the comprehensive education of young people, and retaining talent within the University’s various academic units.
Luz María Ponce de Hoyos stated that during her time at IMARC, she stood out for her academic commitment, as well as for participating in extracurricular activities that helped her develop skills outside the classroom. “The teachers were always dedicated and approachable. I felt very supported, and I learned to manage my time better,” she recalled.
She added that during her final semester she felt the pressure of preparing for the entrance exam, but the news of her direct admission confirmed that all her effort had been worth it. Although she also considered pursuing a Law degree, her interest in technology and communications ultimately led her to choose the path of Engineering.
Ponce de Hoyos mentioned that she was welcomed by the Director of the Faculty of Systems, María del Carmen Coronado Rivera, who congratulated her and encouraged her to move forward with enthusiasm. “She greeted me with a smile, congratulated me for my hard work, and made me feel like part of the faculty from the very first moment,” she said.
Finally, she expressed her gratitude to the university authorities, led by Rector Octavio Pimentel Martínez, for promoting this initiative that rewards academic excellence and allows students to enter a bachelor’s or engineering program at UAdeC without having to take the entrance exam.
UAdeC Professor receives the 2025 National Engineering Award.
Rogelio Perales Puente, professor at the School of Civil Engineering, Laguna Campus of the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila, was awarded the 2025 National Engineering Award in the Teaching category, granted by the Mexican Society of Engineers (SMI).The award ceremony took place in the Green Room of the Chamber of Deputies in San Lázaro, Mexico City, where more than 20 awardees from across the country were recognized for their contributions to Mexico’s technological, industrial, and social development.
The event was led by the National President of the Mexican Society of Engineers (SMI), José Marcos Matus Pérez; the Secretary General of the National Confederation of Popular Organizations (CNOP) and Federal Deputy, Fuensanta Guadalupe Guerrero Esquivel; the National President of the Mexican Union of Engineering Associations (UMAI A.C.), Marco Antonio Méndez Cuevas; and the Secretary of Image and Outreach of the SMI National Executive Committee, Fortino Andrade Hernández.
Professor Rogelio Perales Puente, from the School of Civil Engineering, emphasized that this recognition represents the culmination of years of continuous work at the school, where, in addition to teaching classes, he has promoted various academic and student representation activities.
He noted that the National Engineering Award is more than just a distinction, as it acknowledges the efforts made alongside his students and the institution to strengthen educational quality. It also reflects UAdeC’s commitment to training capable professionals with a strong sense of social responsibility.
With over seven years of academic experience at the university, Perales Puente has stood out for his dedication to the education of future civil engineers. The recognition he received motivates him to continue innovating in teaching and participating in projects that bring national visibility to the University.
ILE Graduate from UAdeC Earns Direct Admission to Bachelor’s Degree in International Business.
Francisco Morín said hefelt surprised and deeply proud of achieving this academic milestone. “Honestly, I felt very happy, very surprised, and proud of all the effort I put in throughout the entire school year. From the very first day, I gave it my all to prove to myself and my parents that all the hard work was worth it,” he shared.
The graduate of ILE’s bilingual high school program described his time at the institute as an unforgettable experience and acknowledged the quality of teaching and the support he received from his instructors. “The teachers are the best; they’re always there to support you. I received an education I wouldn’t trade for anything,” he said.
Regarding his decision to pursue a degree in International Business, Francisco explained that it was a natural choice due to his language training and the interest sparked by the professional experience of a close relative. “Thanks to English, I believe International Business is a field where I can make the most of the tools I gained at ILE. Also, my cousin studied this degree, and after hearing about everything she’s experienced, it made me eager to go through the same.”
He stated that he is preparing for a new chapter in his academic journey, determined to continue building his future on the solid foundation he received during his high school years at UAdeC. He also expressed his gratitude to the university authorities for this initiative, which, he said, represents great motivation for talented and persistent young people.
