Cookies and how we use them

This policy details how UAdeC uses cookies and cookie-like technologies and files on its websites, such as local shared objects, also known as “Flash cookies,” web beacons, etc. In a general way, we refer to these as “cookies”. If you visit our websites and your browser is configured to accept cookies, we assume that you accept the use we make of cookies.

What are cookies and how do they work?

Cookies are small files that the websites you visit send and store on your computer. Cookies are stored in your browser’s file directory. The next time you visit the site, your browser will read the cookie and transmit the information back to the website or to the item that the cookie initially sent you. To learn more about these technologies and how they work, you can visit sites like allaboutcookies.org.

Why does UAdeC use cookies?

In the domains of UAdeC, we use cookies to offer you a more comfortable and hassle-free experience. Check your cookie management options in the next chapter.

Basic functions

These cookies are essential to the functioning of our websites and are the key to offer you a perfect experience.

You can navigate without interruption, for example, by remembering your language and country options, and by maintaining authentication in safe areas of the domain. These cookies also remind you of the products you are interested in redirecting to an operator’s site to make a possible purchase.

Site improvements

These cookies allow us to improve our websites by observing their use.

We perform analytical profiles to understand, for example, how many single users read a particular article (to know what is popular) or whether a video file has been viewed completely or abandoned halfway. We also consider where the content is accessed, so we know how to organize our sites to provide the user with an optimal experience. We count the number of clicks in the “like” and “Tweet” add-ons, and we see what content of our sites has been shared or referenced.

Customization

These cookies help to make the content as personalized as possible, for example, to show you banners that may interest you and pertinent recommendations.

We examine what type of references are used to access our sites, such as e-mail campaigns or reference site links, so that we can assess the effectiveness of our promotions and advertising campaigns.

Advertising

We use these cookies to provide UAdeC ads in a dynamic way on both UAdeC websites and selected third-party websites.

In the future we may include third-party advertising on other UAdeC websites.

Our domains may also include items that send cookies on behalf of third parties, such as a Facebook “like” button or a Twitter “Tweet” button.

How do I manage cookies?

You can review the options available to manage cookies in your browser. You can use the browser to manage cookies related to basic functions, site improvements, personalization, and advertising. Different browsers use different ways to disable cookies, but it can usually be done from the tools or Options menu. You can also check the Explorer Help menu. In addition to cookie management, browsers typically allow you to control cookie-like files, such as local shared objects, by enabling, for example, the browser’s privacy mode.

UAdeC uses advertising cookies managed by third parties to promote their products on both UAdeC and non-UAdeC websites. You may opt out of receiving certain third-party ad-managed cookies through your cookie management sites, such as Facebook, Google Analytics, Apple Network, Real Media, YouTube, and Adobe Flash.

Uninhabited cookies may prevent you from using some parts of UAdeC Web sites. If you remove cookies from the browser, you may have to reinstall deleted cookies.

How long do we keep the information?

That depends on the type of cookie. Session cookies expire when the browser is closed. Persistent cookies, including local shared objects (“Flash cookies”), have expiration dates that usually range from two months to a couple of years.

What else should you know?

In addition to compiling data on Web domains, UAdeC collects other information that is described in UAdeC’s privacy policy. UAdeC also has a volunteer program to improve your Apps: the UAdeC Improvement Program. This program is dedicated to gathering information about how users navigate and use the applications and features of their devices. Check the privacy information of UAdeC improvement Program to learn more about the program and your choices regarding this.

UAdeC can modify this policy from time to time or it can be changed or modified. However, if this policy is modified in a substantial and adverse way, UAdeC will publish a notice informing you of that change at the beginning of it and on the main page of this website. We advise you to visit this policy from time to time to keep you informed of any changes that may be made to it.
